Hall of Fame - V. Scofield's Rex Von Finn, CD, CanCD

July 2, 1972 - June 16, 1984
Owner: Terri Scofield

In 1980, when the White German Dog Club decided to accept a point system and give points to all of our winners, there were 3 white German Shepherds given V-Rating, through Dr. Eugene Carver's research. Rex was one of those first 3, along with his daughter and grandson.

Condensing my reasons for nominating him to our Hall of Fame - I am sure I may forget some of the things he has done - but some of the highlights of his show career are:

1973 Best of Breed, National Show, Dallas, Texas
1975 Best Opposite Sex, National Show, Connecticut
1976 Best of Breed, National Show, Maryland
1982 Best of Opposite Sex, National Show, Maryland

Rex also has many 1st place ribbons and other Best of Breed wins. He is O.F.A. Certified and also has sired many litters. There are quite a few of his progeny that have points, of course one of them being V. Jo-El's Charmer the Best of Breed winner at the 1975 National Show, plus many more wins for her. Rex also is the sire of Demon's Royal Snowman, CDX and is also the grandsire of these winners: V. Sherry's Magnificent Mongo (one of the original 3 V-rated dogs with multiple National Best of Breed wins (4) and too many ribbons to list; V. Riunite Von Finn, many Best of Breeds, including 1982 National; V. Sauer's Sargent Snow, CD, many Winners Dog wins and some Best of Winners and a few Best of Breed wins; V. Jo-el Spellbound, CD, who has a few Best of Winners and Best of Breed wins and lots of ribbons.

Rex was always outstanding, not just in beauty, but in his temperament, heart and grace. We only hope his good qualities will continue to come through the generations. Thank you, Rex. We will remember you in our Hall of Fame.
